I guess it all depends on how many got the more virulent of the poison, what batches and how bad they are. If the military is all vaxed and they all get the kill shot, we will have no military and no time to train a new one.

Suppose evil President Xi actually did deliberately release the Covid virus and made a big fuss about it, even though he knew it was not much worse than a bad flu outbreak. For 2 years, the West has fallen into China’s Lock Down trap and grown more dependent on China. Now Western politicians are realizing that locking up the voters might backfire on them — and are privately saying to each other “Never Again!”.
If President Xi really did deliberately release the mild version of the virus as part of battlespace preparation, we are getting very close to the optimum time for him to release the real thing — the virus that really would decimate the population. Because when that hypothetical virus started to bite, Western politicians would be very reluctant to make serious efforts to stop it. And Western populations would mostly not be in a mood to cooperate in another round of Lock Downs.

Gavin, I don’t think it would work. We in the West now have had the same exposure to SARS type viruses as those in the far East had some years ago, Our immune systems will have adapted, as theirs seems to have done, in ways that are unclear. Not antibodies. Something more general.

I still haven’t caught COVID, despite not going overboard with germ avoidance. Maybe it’s dumb luck. Maybe it’s all that time I used to spend traveling.
I used to get bad head colds. In recent years… nothing. Go figure. Maybe it’s because the sort of people who embrace the face diapers were the very ones who used to spread the germs. Or maybe my immune system has acquired superpowers. Maybe both.

It may be may justified to look askew at some of this but…there’s also a veil of people complaining about Karens that are actually undermining civilization. They use selected Karen videos to tar all of them. The main amount of “karening”, that they don’t show, is a DEMAND for standards. A demand that we do let the day to day interactions between people disintegrate into to third world conditions.
I perceive an effort on the part of some propagandist to portray any complaints about our rapidly disintegrating public society to be some sort of offense. A deliberate attack on society and anyone who complains about it’s disintegration.

Given airborne respiratory viruses, unless your life is like on a mountain totally isolated from any and all other humanity, 99.99x% chance you’ve already been exposed, multiple times even.
And if you haven’t noticed anything, that’s just the way it is. And a lot of people have not noticed anything out of the ordinary.
