   That particular poster reminded me of Gaston, a Belgian comic-strip popular here in Europe.

   English translations are few and far between, but check this to see the similarity.

   I mentioned this to a friend who is an illustrator here, and he said whoever wins the grand prize at Angoulême one year does the fiche for next year, and that Watterson won last year.
