Opossum hops into history books:
A wee opossum that lives in South America has become the first marsupial to have its genetic code fully deciphered, an achievement that may also shed life on the odyssey of mankind and help medical research.
The unravelling of the DNA of the grey, short-tailed opossum — Latin name Monodelphis domestica — was published on Wednesday by the journals Nature and Genome Research.
