Copenhagen’s Little Mermaid could be moved to safer rock:
Copenhagen may move the city’s famous Little Mermaid statue a little further out to sea, out of reach of its fans and, more to the point, of vandals, city officials said.“Too many people caress and touch the monument and climb on its shoulders to take photographs, running the risk of falling into the water or on to the rocks,” Jens Peter Munk, responsible for Copenhagen’s monuments, told AFP.
“But reducing (…) vandalism,” is our main aim, Munk said.
