Much that is good in there, but I don’t know how seriously should I take a guy who claims as an achievement that “We had 8th-graders at a Montessori middle school I later created in Palo Alto — our average 8th-grade student scored higher than the average private school senior in the United States.”
Dollars to donuts it’s not East Palo Alto. Also, not all children have sufficient self-discipline without training. Interest alone is usually not enough to put oneself through hundreds of hours of boring practice.
