Gaza has no resources that make it worth living there

Back in 1980, Arnold Kling and his then-new wife spent some time in Israel near Gaza:

“You’re about to see the saddest sight of your entire life,” our host told us. My wife and I, recently married, were riding in a tractor that was pulling the accumulated week’s trash from our small farming village to a dumping area in the sand just outside the boundary of the village. The cart we were pulling was about 15 feet by 15 feet, piled high with what today would be composted by environmentally conscious elites: moldy bread, rotten fruit, scraps of vegetables.

As we approached the dumping area, we found ourselves surrounded by Arab residents of Gaza. They came running, competing to be the first to have access to what we were dumping. They were dressed in rags, which were torn, patched and ill-fitting. It was indeed the saddest sight I have ever seen.

Gaza has no resources that make it worth living there. It is hard to get historical demographic figures for the Gaza Strip, but it seems that at the end of World War I the area had fewer than 20,000 residents. It . As of 1948, according to Michael Oren, the population was just 80,000. He says that nearly 2 million people live there today.

[…]

Arab refugees, there and elsewhere, were kept in a state of dependence. No one ever made an attempt to create an actual economy in Gaza, with people working and producing. It was all handouts, and even those were inadequate.

The Israelis conquered Gaza in 1967. They, too, made no effort to develop it. They approved a handful of Jewish settlements there. From a strategic perspective, the strip is a buffer zone between Israel and the Sinai Peninsula. Israel captured the Sinai in 1967 and gave it back to Egypt under the Begin-Sadat peace agreement brokered by President Carter in 1979.

Neither do Hong Kong or Singapore.

“They were dressed in rags, which were torn, patched and ill-fitting.”

Strangely this is the exact description of the Arabs in North Africa from the WW2 GI’s.

    As to developing them…LOL.

This weekend demonstrated yet again, as apparently it never gets old or at least is always fresh, the potential and full development of the Human Capital in question. That’s it. That’s all they got to offer. It’s all they want.

  3. Natureboi says:

Gaza is a prison camp. There are two points of entry or exit, both guarded by a military force hostile to the residents. It is the only place in the world that is on the sea but cannot be exited by ship. Israel controls access to food, water, and power. There is no arable land.

You have to be retarded to compare it to Hong Kong and Singapore, two major global ports and trading hubs. Airy fairy talk about “human capital” ignores the impossibility of developing human capital when you can’t even get books.

The people in Gaza are deliberately kept in poverty and are not allowed to leave. They are not lazy or stupid, they are locked up without any ability to access intellectual or material resources.

Bear in mind that when the evil kicks in the IDF say they “warned the inhabitants to leave before carpet bombing the area,” THE F___ING JEWS ARE THE ONES KEEPING EVERYONE FROM LEAVING.

  4. Jim says:

Many races are content to live in filth and proliferate without a care in the world. Palestinian Arabs are hardly the only such race and really are barely distinguishable. In warmer climes, it is practically the rule.

  5. Jim says:

Natureboi: “The people in Gaza are deliberately kept in poverty and are not allowed to leave. They are not lazy or stupid—“

Richard Lynn (P.B.U.H.) would disagree with you. Most likely, he would gently remind you that the Palestinian Arab IQ of 83-86 is on par with that of the American Black.

  6. Jim says:

It’s completely incomprehensible why Israel owns and operates a real-life District 9, but nothing could be so completely incomprehensible as why European Jews have thrown themselves on the Arabic Jewish funeral pyre of the most godforsaken region on Earth.

  7. Jim says:

I suppose it’s for the best. Excluding Sephardim and German Jews, they weren’t doing much good in America, either. Fucking Ashk.

  8. Albion says:

They seem in the Gaza Strip, despite having no port, to have acquired a lot of weapons. I did hear they dug up water pipes to make launching tubes for missiles into Israel, but the maker of the weapons they get isn’t saying much–you may speculate who that is.

The Gaza lot have also acquired some proficiency in fighting, so it’s reasonable people have got in the help train them. Plus, the all-important factor of mobile phones to record what they do. Could be what they video is useful to those who appreciate distributing ‘atrocity propaganda.’

    Makes you think.

  9. Bob Sykes says:

Netanyahu formed his government by allying himself with extremist settlers like Itamar Ben-Gvir. who serves as the Minister of National Security. These settlers want to expel all non-Jews from Israel/Palestine, both Muslims and Christians.

In the run up to the Hamas atrocities, hundreds of settlers stormed the al-Aqsa mosque, rampaged through the Muslim and Christian neighborhoods of Jerusalem, and invaded the Muslim town of Huwara, where they killed one Palestinian. Ben-Gvir’s security forces accompanied the settlers in each case, and protected them from Palestinian reprisals.

There is no solution to this conflict, other than imposition of one by an outside force willing to suppress and disarm all parties.

  10. Isegoria says:

The Egyptians also share a border with Gaza, and they are not welcoming Palestinian refugees.

  11. Freddo says:

What a coincidence that the USA just happens to occupy a large area of Syria, perfect for resettling palestinians.

  12. Lucklucky says:

Gaza is a Hate camp, where only Islamic power is allowed.

Even then they have water, food, supplies, and energy that are supplied by the persons they hate and want destroyed.

  13. Lucklucky says:

“…’human capital’ ignores the impossibility of developing human capital when you can’t even get books.”

Are you so ignorant of Gaza that you don’t even know there is an Islamic University there?

Your argument is so absurd that I even start to doubt your sanity or if you have even had made an effort to think.

How can Gaza have a land army superior to many European countries of 36,000 men with rocket artillery that would deplete those Euro armies in one day of fire?

  14. VXXC says:

Gaza was a labor pool for Israel 1967–1980s. When Israel began to import cheap labor from elsewhere, the troublemakers were ready.

Now Gaza’s a doomed death cult, and they made their choices. Your boys — oh poor little Pal fanbois — like murdering the civilians and babies of an overpowering enemy, displaying their women’s raped bodies and corpses on the internet, livestreaming the slaughter. This is typical. When we liberated Iraq porn sales took off as Saddam had banned it, but beheading videos quickly eclipsed porn. The True Jihadi w@nks to both…and they never have a problem doing it to their own, either.

This is who they are, and what they have to offer humanity. Nothing more.
