The members of the group follow a conglomerate of conspiracy myths consisting of narratives of the so-called Reichsbürger as well as QAnon ideology

German officials arrested 22 suspected members and three suspected supporters of a far-right terrorist organization across the country on Wednesday on suspicion of plotting to overthrow the government:

In a statement, the German federal prosecutor’s office said an estimated 50 people were suspected to have been part of the group called Reich Citizens movement, founded no later than November 2021, who were plotting to overthrow the government and replace it with their own order.

“The accused are united by a deep rejection of state institutions and the free democratic basic order of the Federal Republic of Germany, which over time has led to their decision to participate in their violent elimination and to engage in concrete preparatory actions for this purpose,” the statement said.

“The members of the group follow a conglomerate of conspiracy myths consisting of narratives of the so-called Reichsbürger as well as QAnon ideology.”

Experts linked Germany’s increasingly frequent violent right-wing attacks with the rise of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, which in 2017 became the first far-right party to win seats in Germany’s parliament in nearly 60 years.

In March 2021, the AfD was formally placed under surveillance by Germany’s BfV domestic intelligence service on suspicion of trying to undermine the country’s democratic constitution.

I have no sympathy for right-wing terrorists, but a “free democratic basic order” is not an accurate description of the German Federal Republic — to put it mildly. After another decade or so of a Democratic presidential administration, it won’t be an accurate description of the US, either.

Of course, the powers that be will use the arrest of this pathetic cell of nutty, delusional terrorists (assuming they posed a real threat) to smear AFD, and anyone else who questions what the Western ruling class is doing to their own societies.

The constant invocation of the word “democratic” by our ruling class is very reminiscent of the way the Communists used the word in the 20th century – anything that was “The People’s Democratic Republic of Such and Such” was always anything but. It’s interesting that as both the US and its European allies become far less democratic than they used to be, in any real sense, the word is trotted out more and more…

When the Soviet Union was collapsing, National Public Radio referred to the hard-line extreme-left Communists who tried to stage a coup as “right-wing Communists”.

In WokeSpeak, “right wing” simply means a group with is disapproved by the far-left Ruling Class. And the term “left wing” is never heard.

The United States is run by the same people as ran the Soviet Union. It is perhaps no surprise then that that body corporate is a totalitarian dictatorship masquerading as a Potemkin clown show masquerading as a legislative democracy, perched, gargoyle-esque, atop a country currently undergoing social, economic, and demographic internal disintegration and collapse without precedent in the annals of the world. Its satellites are similarly structured.

Jim! Jim! Jim! You are too optimistic. Reality is much worse than that. :(

  6. Wang Wei Lin says:

By definition then, the founders of the US would now be considered domestic terrorists.

It would be interesting to see exactly what the group says about Q and the anons. Do they claim to be admirers of Q? Do they even cite Q as an influence? Or do they just echo many of the claims of Q, e.g. governments are blackmailed by evidence of sex crimes?

  8. Altitude Zero says:

I’d be willing to bet that most German Nationalists have never heard of QAnon – that’s just ruling class-speak for “people who believe bad things”. I’m surprised that they didn’t call them MAGA, although that may be coming.

  9. W2 says:

I wonder if any of them will be sent to Landsberg Prison?

The Germans all speak English now. Even the Russian foreign-policy people are using language derivative of certain extremely specific English-language Internet niches. We’re through the looking glass, frankly.
