Did I somehow miss all the many references to this scene from Monty Python’s Life of Brian a few months back?
[The members of "The People's Front of Judea" are sitting in the amphitheatre; Stan has just announced that he wants to be a woman and wants to be called "Loretta," and is explaining why]
Stan: I want to have babies.
Reg: You want to have babies?!?!
Stan: It’s every man’s right to have babies if he wants them.
Reg: But… you can’t HAVE babies!
Stan: Don’t you oppress me!
Reg: I’m not oppressing you, Stan. You haven’t got a womb! Where’s the foetus gonna gestate? You gonna keep it in a box?
The past is the present; it is everything there: [Life of Brian "Loretta" clip].
And then there’s this extremely Moldbuggian discussion.
One wonders if the Pythons knew they were mocking the SJW left.
I want to smack whoever invented that expression, SJW. I am always surprised how people defer to leftist speech. By using “social justice” you are implying that you believe they fight for social justice, just a bit extreme. They are Marxists, and we should use Marxism more, because that is where all this came from.
Well, I don’t believe in the fight for justice of any kind, and I’m pretty sure that anybody who says “SJW” means it ironically. I think the term is more damaging than Marxist. An “SJW” is a clown.
