Once again, I wish you a happy Secession Day!
I’ve discussed the colonies’ secession from the motherland more than once over the years:
- The War of the American Revolution
- America’s First Propaganda Coup
- America Had a Government Before the Constitution
- A Second English Civil War
- The Lenin of the American Revolution
- What If… The USA had lost its War of Independence?
- Worst of the Old World and the New
- The American Revolution, 1763-1783
- The True History of the American Revolution (Revisited)
- Secession Day
- Empires of the Atlantic World
- How the War of Secession Came About
- True History of the American Revolution
- The Declaration of Independence
Just imagine!
No need – As seldom happens, we have a placebo-controlled historical experiment.
If the US had failed to achieve independence, then they would have been crushed under the iron heel of British tyranny; and been forced to live in conditions of abject poverty and servility – exactly as happened to the Loyalist half of the nation who eschewed independence (i.e. the Canadians).
Ummm…
We really do pity the Canadians.
