Somehow I stumbled across an Amazon Listmania! list by a fellow calling himself Kiwi, in which he explains how to bring your child up to survive the next World War. The premise sounded… extreme — but when I read his comments on The Basics of Pistol Shooting, it became clear that his life experience diverged from mine:
When I lived in South Africa, a school bus load of elementary school kids was attacked by two terrorists with AK47′s. The kids had pistols, they pinned the terrorists down in a cornfield until the local commando unit could get there. Score — 2 dead terrorist, one bus load of live kids. Teach your kids to shoot.
