Quaker Clearness

In the latest installment of his open letter to progressives, Mencius Moldbug briefly mentions some Quaker terminology — but when I looked at the list of terms, I was reminded of another sect entirely:

Clearness
a process undergone to discern the true leading of the Spirit of God, especially in ambiguous or complicated situations. Friends often work with Clearness committees when struggling with a difficult issue.

I suppose the Spirit of God makes sure that one’s reactive bank does not insert erroneous data into one’s analytical thinking.
