Tolstoy, Hypocrisy, and Puritanism

Bryan Caplan is re-reading “the greatest novel of history’s most patiently observant novelist,” Tolstoy’s War and Peace.

Maybe I do want to get the audiobook on Audible.

  1. Liv says:

I’ve had a friend who was reading Tolstoy recently. I was quite amazed by the timelessness of his political views, how history always repeats itself, the liberal media indoctrinates and the conservatives persist, even in the darkest of times. After devouring Dalrymple, I think I’ll experience Tolstoy.

  2. Slovenian Guest says:

Maybe not, for your post count sake!

  3. Bob Sykes says:

After that, read “Anna Karenina,” and pay attention to Levin, a stand-in for Tolstoy himself.
