Low Moments in How-To History

The hipsters at Boing Boing ironically share this shooting gallery plan as a low moment in how-to history, because shooting BBs at rabbit and squirrel silhouettes is obviously wrong:

  1. If I had a little more space available…

    You crazy city folk.

  3. I don’t want to be a crazy city person, it’s just where the jobs are. Otherwise I’d happily go back to my roots as a crazy yokel.

  4. Peter Blood says:

In the burbs we need gun towers.

  5. Grasspunk says:

Now that’s quite a problem. I know a couple of “IT” folk who live out here in the sticks but work online for UK companies. Airbus has a lot of employees with country places. Since it is on the edge of Toulouse the commute isn’t bad. I imagine you could get similar country life and commute to Boeing in WA or equiv.

  6. That’s the goal, Grasspunk. It’ll be a couple years before I can get there, though.

A couple of weeks ago I was enjoying the NOVA sunshine after our long winter and found myself wanting nothing more than to take to the woods and do some plinking. Ranges are no substitute for 40 acres of woods.

I’m sure there are some outdoor ranges nearby, Scipio.

  8. Scipio, I was just shooting at the cove last weekend. It’s about a half hour west of Winchester, so not exactly super close to suburban DC, but totally reasonable for a Saturday trip. Outdoors, vastly improved over the last couple years, and a decent place to shoot rifle.

  9. Thanks for the tip, Stephen Gustav, I’ll give The Cove a try.

  10. Isegoria says:

You could also invest in an airgun — whether or not you build a moving-target range for your home.
