In the midst of a story about how 3M is working its hardest to limit evidence so it can keep profiting, the author uses this line to disparage one of the bad guys.

Perhaps, Sharon Lerner, that guy had done so much evidence manipulation in his career that he no longer trusted the form of “evidence-based science” that large corporations practice.
