Swift published that in 1726. Rabelais wrote several suspiciously similar scenes between 1532 and 1564. I saw an adaptation where Gargantua put out a fire with urine, but I think that was the comic-book artist confusing Swift&#039;s scene with Rabelais&#039; original.
