Birds have higher body temperatures than we do, and are even lousier with bird lice than we are. I’d be surprised if bird lice is fungus-free.

I am most grateful to the fungus Entomophaga maimaiga for wiping out the gypsy moth. There used to be billions of those pests stripping forests bare; now I haven't seen one in years.
