The Darwin Awards are a nasty habit of sneering and gloating when reckless people get themselves killed by an obvious lack of common-sense caution.

These emergency drugs are intended for desperately poor patients who will die if they don’t get medicine. The patients are not being reckless: they are just poor. They are trying to minimize their risk of death: they do not lack caution.

If you are starving to death, and you try to survive by eating food that has a small chance of being poisonous, you’re doing your best in a difficult situation. Getting a Darwin Award for dying just proves that the people who hand out such mockery are psychologically maladjusted.

Grasping at straws so to speak in an attempt to find the magic elixir to solve the problem for which conventional medicine has no remedy. Cocktails for medicine passed along in various journals and gay newspapers promising wonderful results which never occurred.
