I was surprised that text didn&#039;t come up, especially when the analogy to &quot;economists&quot; and &quot;political scientists&quot; come up. 

A designer doing social software expecting groups to be formed and sustained, and that doesn&#039;t know (or hasn&#039;t incorporated) the patterns from Ostrom, is like a backend dev that doesn&#039;t know about threads, or a web UI coder that doesn&#039;t know about CSS — inevitably will produce bad work, and typically is hired by a manager&#124;customer that&#039;s just as incompetent in knowing the skills required.]]></description>
