I have some inklings for the reason the libertarians and free marketers are pushing this version of Economic Darwinism and "No intelligent Design" even where the intelligence and design are visible with naked eye.

I also agree with the criticism of the opposite (or pseudo-opposite) tendency of Rationalistic design of everything basing on first principles (generally pulled out of thin air) and rejection of tradition.

However, the fact that one fanciful theory is wrong doesn't make its polar opposite and equally fanciful theory right.

For one thing, there is a Minister of Bread in most civilized countries, including USA. And he, his officials and the corporations with which he works changed the agricultures quite radically.

BTW, all those libertarian just so stories seem to be directed at 8 to 10 years olds. Presumably, older children know too much about the real world to believe it.

On the other hand, it is much more cheerful than the actual economic reality of mega-corporations cooperating with national governments and internation organizations, trade standards etc.

I sugggest a brief lecture of:

Author is pro Brexit, but he has a rather strange preferences: he likes grim reality better than pretty stories. And he is rather interested in the real organisation of international trade.
