I remember my family when I was a boy and our neighbors who were predominately of German extraction: everybody had guns and nobody got shot. Gun cabinets were in the living room and pistols were in the night stand drawer or under the mattress. I got a BB gun at age 8, a Crosman Pellet gun pistol at age 10, and a 22 rifle at age 12. That was normal.

Even after losing two bloody wars and being re-educated by the victors, I can believe Germans in Germany still have a penchant to have guns.
