Darren Brown, the guy in the video, is a well-known British mentalist/entertainer who’s done a bunch of work purporting to reveal scams and frauds in the business. He’s also been accused of staging things, but with this one, who the heck knows?

I’d want to see this sort of thing investigated under laboratory conditions, before I started taking it really seriously. I’m sure it can be done, with some people, but I would want to see more evidence.

Part of this is no doubt that Mr. Brown seems like a nice guy, trustworthy and earnest. Someone else, who looked shadier, would probably get a totally different reaction.
