		<description><![CDATA[The fun thing about corn is what it is used for. Animal feed (esp. pork and chicken, but also feedlot fattening of beef). And these days it goes in to fuel. The article mentions that China uses most of its corn for animal feed, but so does the USA. 

I was enjoying that story of corn development, but they kinda stopped before the green revolution. And didn&#039;t know that the newer varieties used way more N, but of course they would. Since the yield is so much higher they&#039;ll use more of everything. 

The drive behind this corn espionage: the Chinese are eating more meat.]]></description>
