I used to live in Harvard Square across the street from the Cambridge MA Christian Science church back in the 90s. They were certainly attended on Sundays, but not all that *well* attended, considering the size of the place. Or is it Saturdays? Been a few years.

Heckuva location though, if you want to talk real estate.

I work not far from Nottingham and Spirk's' church (it is a spectacular structure), I've talked to them and my admiration knows no bounds. But to get back to the decommissioned Christian Science Church -- how many Christian Science churches currently squat on prime real estate in America's great cities? And how many people belong to those churches? Probably very few, which leads me to believe that the Christian Science church is currently a shell for some kind of massive real estate entity whose actually purpose and functioning are opaque to outsiders.

<i>He says, ‘It’s amazing that the most innovative ideas that General Motors has come up with have come from the outside, small companies.'</i>

Fracking was developed by small- and medium-sized outfits, not by the large energy companies that (at least on paper) would have seemed far better suited to do so.

If technological innovation really is slowing down, as some contend, will increasing dominance by a few giant corporations be part of the reason why?
