Any good progressive would read the above thing about Conservians getting into Berkeley and say: My God, how horrible! We need to import more Mexicans to keep those Conservian shits at arm's length!

Nobody on the left is claiming that immigration is always and everywhere good. It's good when it helps them or other groups they empathize with, or when it hurts core Americans or other groups they hate. That's all they're saying.

When they say the Pilgrims were illegal immigrants, do they have any qualms about how "no human being is illegal?" (WTF does that MEAN?!) No. They think that no human being they empathize with "is illegal". But the Pilgrims "were illegal", no question, because they identify the Pilgrims with core Americans (rotsa ruck trying to explain Moldbug's views on the puritan origins of the Cathedral to those clowns).

I doubt you could even get a good progressive to understand the symmetry. In his mind, Mexican == Good, Conservian == evil monster. He'd get stuck on that and think you were trying to claim that Mexicans will try to shut down abortion clinics or something. If you really got the idea across, he'd say it was an invalid analogy because, duh, Conservians are evil and hateful in every imaginable way, while Mexicans are noble progressive savages or whatever.
