However, lying and/or being wildly mistaken about Cheeta[h] is part of a pattern. The genesis is that telling a story is more important to most than getting it right…which is itself usually harmless. However, it sometimes occurs to politicians to bend these stories, which isn’t harmless.

The method can be studied on low-payoff myths like Cheetah’s, and the theory used to pierce the heavily-defended political versions.
